Worximity welcomes new IIOT talent: Elizabeth Consolante!

Recently, I took on a new challenge and joined the fantastic Wx tribe as a Content Creator. Prior to my debut at Worximity, I was fortunate enough to have worked in public relations and marketing at Montreal-born companies such as the Aldo Group and Evenko as well as the communications agency 1Milk2Sugars.

Why did I trade the glamour of the fashion and beauty industries and the thrill of concerts and festivals for the geeky vibes of the tech industry you may ask?

Upon the end of my degree in Management and Marketing, I found myself at a crossroads and that is when this great opportunity fell upon my path. The technology scene had always piqued my curiosity, in part due to its undeniable effervescence, especially in the Montreal scene. Joined to my desire to experience the fast paced and highly hands-on aspects of a start-up, this represented the perfect moment for me to step out of my comfort zone.

After having met with Emilie and Myriam, it was clear to me that Worximity was a good fit for me. Their company culture is like no other; putting forth everyone's strengths, embracing and promoting the sharing of new ideas and potential ventures, encouraging collaborative work and team chemistry, only to name a few. Moreover, I felt like my input would truly be listened to and valued. I believe that I have a lot to learn from this experience and that it will broaden my knowledge and skillset.

What else is there to know about me?

I am a tremendous music junkie. At any time of the day, you will find me with my earphones in or somehow listening to music. I am not to be fooled by my young age, my repertoire encompasses all decades and genres. Some may say that my Spotify is my best friend. When I'm not my exploring my personalized playlist on Mondays, listening to throwbacks on Thursdays or discovering new music on Fridays, I'm browsing through different styles that harmonize with my current mood. Music always served many purposes for me; whether it is to express myself, be inspired, share particular moments with friends, attach a some kind of soundtrack to certain experiences and more, it's an essential component to everything I do. It's been a way for me to put words on feelings I couldn't otherwise explain. It also has it's soothing and relaxing components; my morning drives to work and late night drives with the music blasting are sacred. Having been heavily involved with some of Montreal's biggest festivals such as OSHEAGA over the past year and sharing my workspace with renown artists has been a dream come true.

Other than music, I am a big foodie, traveler and book lover!

Some of my 2018 discoveries:

- Lauv

- JP Cooper

- Billie Eilish

- Ella Mai

After all, what will I be doing at Worximity?

Mainly, I will be in charge of creating content for the company's website and other social media platforms on multiple industry related topics.

Also, I will assist in the development of various marketing initiatives for the company, whether it is through a customer experience standpoint, business, and more.

How can I contribute to the tribe?

Having worked a lot with young audiences and from a B2C rather than B2B perspective, I believe I can bring a fresh touch to an industry that is known to be rather technical. I strongly think that my experience in event marketing and public relations can bring an added value to an already well designed company. Dynamic and filled with dedication, I take my work to heart and am not scared to get my hands dirty. I appreciate the challenge in solving particular issues or in elaborating specific strategies.

What do I like about the start-up?

Before my beginnings at Worximity, I was told how fun and motivating the team is, that the environment is really collaborative and everyone is very approachable and open to new ideas. I can now confirm that it couldn't be more true. Everyone has a bright personality and is strongly committed to the company's success. I particularly enjoy how all employees are strongly encouraged to share their opinions as well as any new projects or endeavours that they think may be beneficial to the company. It truly shows that it is part of Worximity's core to empower its employees and stimulate them to be the best version of themselves.

What do I wish to accomplish within the IIOT team?

I would like to contribute to reinforcing the company's brand equity by forging new innovative avenues through which we can strengthen our brand awareness and enhance client experience.

All in all, I took a big leap of faith by joining the Wx tribe but I couldn't be more excited for what's to come! As a new chapter began for me, I look forward to tackle new projects and I genuinely believe that I will grow a lot through it.
